Help! Contact from Collections Agency

Yesterday I received a bill from a collections company for $150 saying it was in regards to a account with Time Warner Cable. I am unaware of any outstanding bill and we haven't used their services since May of 2012. Can the collections company report a debt this old to my credit report?
